The Boston Whaler 110 Sport Runabout is a great little boat that can be used as a launch, a fishing boat or just as a boat at the lake. The 110 Sport Runabout is perfect if you’re looking for a second boat to backup a larger model such as a sport cruiser.
Even though it’s small, the 110 Sport Runabout has many of the same features as larger boats including a no-feedback steering system with a steering wheel. This means that the 110 Sport can be driven just like a bigger boat.
No longer do you have to sit in the stern and drive the boat using an outboard engine. Instead it can be driven from a comfortable seat just like Boston Whaler’s larger boats.
A canvas sun top can even be added to provide shade. Fiberglass bench seats can hold up to four persons. The cockpit contains such features as cup holders and can come with options such as cushions. This makes the 110 Sport Runabout the perfect small boat for short fishing trips or runs to shore.
A 25 ELPT Four Stroke Mercury engine gives this little boat a lot of speed and power. An even smaller 15EL Four Stroke Engine is also available.
Since it’s only 11 feet long the Sport Runabout is easy to store in a garage or backyard. It also fits onto the deck of yachts and is easily hauled on a trailer. That makes this little boat a great runabout.
Such features as navigation lights make the Sport Runabout safe to use around the harbor and the coast line. This boat truly is a runabout its perfect for trips to those fishing spots that larger craft can’t reach.
One drawback to the 110 Sport Runabout is that it’s the only Boston Whaler product that doesn’t come with a fishing package or a Raymarine navigation system and fish finder. No stereo or satellite radio options are available for the 110 Sport Runabout either. Indeed the boat lacks a lot of the options found in Boston Whaler’s typical products.
The best use for the 110 Sport Runabout is as backup to a larger boat or as a launch from a yacht. Yachtsmen will appreciate this boat because it has the features of a larger boat but lacks the size.
One advantage to the 110 Sport Runabout is that it can be taken out and used as a standalone boat. This would be a perfect craft for use on a small lake or river.
