Although many Tampa Bay boaters prefer St. Petersburg the city of Tampa has a number of really good marinas available for boaters.

The Tampa Bayside Marina located at 5200 West Tyson Avenue offers a wide variety of services to boat owners. Three large fully enclosed high and dry storage barns can hold powerboats that are up to 44 feet in length. The dry storage secured is locked and protected by 24 hour a day security patrols.

Other services at Tampa Bayside Marina include gas and diesel fuel available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, boat maintenance, detailing, launch and retrieval services and wet slips available for long term lease. Amenities at the facility include air conditioned showers, a ships store offering accessories and electronics, tackle lockers, a professional tackle shop, fly fish outfitting, a fish cleaning station with a chum grinder and a septic pump out.

The City of Tampa operates two marinas; the Marjorie Park Yacht Basin and the Bayshore Marina and a number of slips for transient boats at the city’s convention center. The Marjorie Park Yacht Basin in Marjorie Park on Davis Island operates 365 days a year. This full service marina offers fuel sales, showers, restrooms, a weather station and a pump out station to yacht and boat owners. Monthly and transient slips are available at Marjorie Park.

Many urban amenities including restaurants, shops, Laundrymats and banks are available at the Davis Island Business District which is only a short walk away. City parks are also located within walking distance of the yacht basin.

The Bayshore Marina is a small marina with 18 boat slips that’s located close to Downtown Tampa. This marina is located within walking distance of retail shops and restaurants. The docks at the Tampa Convention Center accept transient boaters. They’re within walking distance of the center and Downtown Tampa. These docks are also a short trolley ride from historic Ybor City and the Channelside entertainment and retail center. 28 docking slips are available at the convention center. Unfortunately these slips can’t accommodate boats over 26 feet in length.

Tampa Channelside Marina, the Tampa Channelside Marina at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina near the Convention Center has 32 full service boat slips available for rent. Boaters who stay here have access to a three star Marriott hotel that contains 719 rooms, three restaurants, a pool, and a spa. This Marina is part of the Channelside development project.
