STRONG GRIP
Sunday, December 5, 2010 1:28ARONOWITSCH & LYTH AB manufactures these excellent gripping devices that can be effectively used to hold onto any sailcloth of canvas, tarpaulin or other sailcloth material, without tearing the cloth. The device consists of an aluminum clip and a roller pin made of semi soft plastic.
The grip holds tightly with a combination grip of the semi-soft plastic and the aluminum metal clip and does not get loose on shaking or other such impacts on it. The grip ability of this little gripper is greater than any other gripper of the accessory market and it can handle heavyweight tarpaulins with the same ease as it handles the lightweight sail clothes.
Furthermore, it is simple to attach and remove and works in all types of weather, regardless of the climates and temperatures. Further more, it is versitile and can be put to a number of different uses. It can hold sail clothes to set up temporary awnings, it can be used to set up a dodger or bimini as well.
The company package contains two sets of the clipper and a bilingual instruction manual. The multi facility of STRONG GRIP gripper is also reflected in the manufacturer’s website, that states, “STRONG-GRIP can also be used to join tarpaulins together while creating a protective overlap at the same time”.
The manufacturer describes the product as ‘totally new thinking and design”. So much so, the design of strong grip received a special mention in the 2008 Design Awards Meet or the DAME. The semi soft plastic roller pin of strong grip always ensures that the tarpaulin surface is not affected directly by the strong metal pins of strong grip. The dimensions of the Aluminum clips are 63 X 30 X 19 millimeters.
A 2-pack package of STRONG GRIP by AERONOWITSCH & LYTH AB is 8.50 Euros (or 12.75 dollars approximately).
The manufacturer’s website thus specifically limits the utility of STRONG GRIP grippers in three different specifications:
1. Much developed superior grip ability to hold tarpaulins and fabrics of all different thicknesses and materials.
2. Attachment and removal of a strong grip GRIPPER are simple processes that functions without puncturing the tarpaulin.
The gripper is corrosion resistant to all kinds of harsh climatic conditions and is made up of durable and strong material.
