The Blackfin is made for fishing but also combines speed and power. The owner of this 1987 Blackfin 29 Combi has had the boat since 1999. He is the second owner. He has often run the boat fishing in open ocean and recalls bringing it back to port through 10- to 12-foot waves with winds blowing 30 to 25 knots. "And she came through that. So it's a pretty stable boat," the owner says. The boat's engines are ideal for trolling for fish, he says. The engines are quiet and since they don't run on diesel people on board don't get a queasy feeling in their stomach at low speeds. "The engines troll beautifully. You don't even hear them. There's no smell," the owner says. He typically cruises at about 20 to 23 miles per hour (at about 2,900 revolutions per minute), which consumes about 20 to 24 gallons of gasoline per hour, he says. The owner has had six people fishing on it at a time, in comfort. The boat can accommodate up to eight passengers. The cabin has a queen-size bed that sleeps two adults and has room for a child to sleep, too. The cockpit has full-size cushions and is surrounded by canvas, so it could rigged to sleep two more adults. The cabin has teak and mahogany woodwork. The upholstery below deck is bluish-white with a pattern. The swim platform in the stern is made of teak. The hand rails toward the bow are teak. The boat does not come with a trailer. It rests on jacks currently when it is out of the water. The owner says he likes the boat but doesn't get to use it much anymore because he is too busy.
